Clare’s Law

Clare’s Law is a Domestic Abuse Disclosure Scheme. The aim of the scheme is to provide you with a formal mechanism to make enquiries about your partner is you are worried that they may have been abusive in the past.Applications are made to the police, you can do this by:

  • visiting a police station
  • calling 101 (the non-emergency number for the police)
  • go online for more information

If you believe there is an  immediate risk of harm to someone or in an emergency you should always call 999.
